Mechanical properties and freeze-thaw resistance of lightweight aggregate concrete using artificial clay aggregate

چکیده

Abstract This work intends to make structural lightweight aggregate concrete by using artificial expanded clay with different replacement levels from normal coarse and improve it a high-performance superplasticizer increase its strength. The mechanical characteristics covered in the present were compressive strength, flexural splitting tensile strength addition freezing thawing resistance. Different densities found for all mixes ranging between that depends on of aggregates. Mixes exceeding 25% give less than 17 MPa cannot be regarded as concrete. Modified higher values properties, also some non-structural improved PC-superplasticizer this study. research includes cycles reference mixes. Lightweight high durability against freeze-thaw where reduction was 6.2, 4.6, 5.5% 10% rep, 15% 20% rep mixes, respectively, compared 32.2% mix.
